In my ideal world, a car show would be held in the public, and easily accesible by the public. The purpose of a car show in my eyes, is to show off your car. But if your showing it off to club members, you are essentially preaching to the choir. When you get the public involved, you do two things. You get unusual comments and questions from people that no one would normally ask. Infact, they may spark an Idea or two. And If not, they may just compliment you on your car. It will increase your pride in ownership. Second, you may spark a light in someone who has always wanted that 'special' car from yesteryear. A sort of community recruiting if you will. I can honostly say that I only had two comments from San Antonio. Both were "nice car". that was it. To fellow Zers, I am just another z32 in a field full of deer shit. (the judges however, paul (the guy i am offending in these posts) and that stunt car driver, did both offer quite a few positive comments and suggestions on my car while they were judging. I've never had that kind of experience with judges before...thanks for that indeed.) If you want to play the trophy game, thats cool too...the public will still recognize your clean car. i dont know if i am making a real point here, but It'd just be nice to see the public more involved. It really seems like a secret society to me, and that's not good.
